About Impression
Impression is a print shop in Midway District, San Diego. We print every day, so we keep the ink and toner we trust in our own machines — Brother and HP cartridges, genuine and compatible, stocked at the counter and listed here.
Genuine or compatible — we always say which
Both have a place. A genuine cartridge is made by the printer manufacturer and carries their yield figures. A compatible cartridge is made by a third party to fit the same machine, usually costs less, and varies more between brands. Neither is a trick. What causes trouble is finding out which one you bought after the box is open, so the distinction is written into every title on this site.
Match the code, not the picture
Cartridge codes are unforgiving. TN730 and TN760 fit the same printers but yield different page counts. 64 and 64XL are the same cartridge in two sizes. Every listing gives the cartridge code, the page yield where the manufacturer publishes one, and the printer series the cartridge is intended for.

Where we ship
The shop is in San Diego, California, and orders placed here are shipped to addresses across the United States. Charges, timings and the returns window are on the Shipping Policy and Return & Refund Policy pages. Cartridges must be unopened to be returned — this is set out in the returns policy.
